A Room with a View

Why is this amusing?

A window that once provided light and a view is no longer required as a building morphs into a new and better version of itself.

Interestingly, there is a liminal point where it still has its original features but the new form imposes upon the old.

There is a keen sense of irony as the window frame and curtains reveal the unexpected brick wall. The resulting confusion delights as our eyes process what we can see or cannot see and exposes the gap between our expectations and reality.

It makes us laugh because it confounds our assumptions, which is something every building should do on one level or another.
